SAY GOODBYE TO CHRONIC STRESS AND EMBODY YOUR MOST LIBERATED SELF
“Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.” - Gabor Maté
When people think of trauma they tend to think of dramatic situations, but smaller incidents can also be traumatic. Trauma can be anything that keeps us locked in a physical, emotional, behavioral or mental pattern.
The energy of the trauma is stored in our body tissue on a cellular level (primarily muscles and fascia) until it can be released. Long term, this stored trauma can lead to serious health problems.
The body relies on emotions to find balance after trauma. Through our body and the processing of our feelings, we can release stored trauma and handle stress better.
I developed PTSD after I ended an emotionally-challenged marriage of nearly 20 years. I originally turned to yoga while I was still married to find a place of peace in an otherwise chaotic life. Within the calm and quiet of yoga, I was able to gradually regain my sense of self. After the marriage ended, yoga, Kundalini, Qigong, Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), energy healing and meditation helped me better manage my PTSD triggers through deep breathing, mindfulness, bodywork and self-awareness. This is why I developed TRAUMA BODY METHOD®, to synergistically combine all of these powerful healing modalities into one.
TRAUMA BODY METHOD® is one of the most effective therapies available, combining body, mind and energy work.
This approach helps
soothe the nervous system
reduces anxiety
nurtures the physical and subtle bodies
promotes self-awareness
builds resilience
takes you out of the fight/flight/freeze pattern
releases deeply held stress and tension
and removes energetic blockages
You can experience the TRAUMA BODY METHOD® through an online video series, so that you can do it on your time and in the comfort of your home.
TRAUMA BODY METHOD® is uniquely designed to empower those who have experienced trauma to embody their most liberated self. The method blends Yoga, Kundalini, QiGong, trauma release exercises, energy healing, meditation, breathwork, and holistic self-care to provide a specialized practice for those who feel like they are lost and suffering.
YOGA
Yoga as a healing modality for complex trauma has been practiced successfully for many years—yet it’s only now that it’s being recognized as a scientifically validated approach. Yoga opens you up to feeling every aspect of your body, where the trauma of the past is stored. The areas of the brain involving self-awareness get activated by doing yoga, and those are the areas that get blocked out by trauma and that are needed in order to heal it. Yoga reduces the overall intensity of the stress response and improves the ability to self-soothe.
KUNDALINI
Kundalini yoga helps you release stress and break through the blocks that are holding you back. It charges the electromagnetic field around our being, and helps you release the negative energy so that we can call in more of what we want and attract positive experiences into our life. This allows us to live with flow and more ease.
QIGONG
Resilience can help heal trauma. Resilience is found when we connect to the spiritual world, return to nature, grieve, meditate, do breathing exercises, and move the body. Qigong is a holistic method of adjusting the breath, body, and mind, which contributes to building resilience and finding inner strength. When emotions are trapped inside the body they can negatively affect the related organ and exacerbate the emotion. Through Qigong, we can work on releasing those emotions and heal the body.
TRAUMA RELEASE EXERCISES
Trauma release exercises assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension and calms the nervous system. Through this muscular shaking/vibrating activation, the body can return to a state of balance.
BREATHWORK
Breath is our most vital source. It’s the most important thing we have. If you’re breathing incorrectly, you might feel very uncomfortable on a regular basis. We can also use deep connected breathing as a powerful technique for clearing trauma from our bodies by releasing muscular tension and emotional patterns.
MEDITATION
Meditation reduces stress hormones by calming the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for our ‘fight-or-flight’ responses to danger. It strengthens the control one may have over their emotions, reducing anxiety and stress. In addition to meditation, when one develops mindfulness through moment-to-moment awareness, you can rewire your brain to think differently.
