SPIRIT
The energy body (or aura) is made up of different layers of our being. It’s the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual body. None of them can be separated. It’s etheric energy that we can’t see but we can feel.
The energy body is our guiding system. It’s what tells us when something feels right or wrong.
We have all had the experience of not listening to our gut, and then learning the hard way. As you strengthen your intuition, we experience more grace and peace in our lives.
We can strengthen our subtle body through a spiritual practice or by connecting with nature. We are an energetic being and there’s energy running through us and around us all the time. Sometimes the energy gets stuck and can stop moving, or it can move too fast.
We can use nature to regenerate and clear the subtle body. A simple practice like watching the sunrise can have a profound effect on the subtle body. Standing on the Earth with bare feet is extremely clearing and grounding for our energy. Water is as well.
Quiet time, experiencing stillness, and taking time to stretch, meditate, walk outside, or do yoga are all very powerful tools. When we do some of these activities, we also clear out any trapped emotions. This is the key to understanding and hearing our intuition fully, so feel those emotions and let them go.
SACRED SPACE
The root of your wellbeing can be strengthened by creating an alter, a place where you can connect with yourself and Spirit.
Alters contain objects placed on a cloth for specific intent. Shamans believe an alter created with intention enhances connection with your soul-spirit and the Cosmic and Earthly worlds. It creates a central place for meditation and manifestation.
Oftentimes, we place items around our house that are sacred without even realizing it, such as crystals, stones, candles, feathers, etc. It is all that much more powerful when we bring these items together in one setting. When items are scattered around our home, it can create scattered energy within ourselves.
The most basic symbolism for your alter are the four elements combined with Spirit. The elements are Fire (South), Water (West), Air (East), and Earth (North). Spirit is the fifth element, and is the life force that animates all that is living. Your alter reflects back to you the harmony of the elements within your body. It creates balance and can serve as a place to recenter yourself. Just as we eat nourishing food for our bodies, your alter becomes a place that nourishes your soul.
CLEAR YOUR ENERGY
We have all been in spaces that feel off. Sometimes, you may feel it in the form of a headache, dizziness, restlessness, fatigue, anxiety, nightmares, trouble falling asleep, and general discomfort.
As energetic beings, we have to understand how energy effects our wellbeing.
Incompatible energy and negative energy may collect in our auric field and can cause blockages and dis-ease in our system.
Just because we can’t see something with our physical eyes doesn’t mean it isn’t there. This practice is about trusting what you ‘feel’ even when you can’t see it.
We come into contact with other energies throughout our day. Some are for our highest good, and some aren’t. Some can drain our energy, so it’s important to purify and cleanse our energy.
ENERGY HEALING
Because our body is instilled with a subtle energy, or life force, the flow of that energy must be balanced for good health. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this force is called qi (pronounced “chee”). In Ayurvedic medicine, which originated in India, called prana.
There are many subtle ways to release tension, emotion, and trauma that have become stuck in the body. Some of the most effective ways of releasing energy are the things many of us already know and do, such as movement, yoga, dancing, and singing.
But energy healing helps remove blocks in your energetic field that can cause poor health in mind, body and spirit.
Though it may seem that energy healing is “New Age,” the practice is actually ancient and rooted in spiritual concepts that are as old as healing itself.
I am a Certified Reiki Practitioner, and explain in the following video what Reiki is and how it changed my life.
