PHYSICAL CLEANSE

DETOX WITH COMFORT FOOD, NO JUICE FAST

You won't find harsh restrictions, juices or raw foods here, which are the opposite of what we need when we're working on firing up our digestion.

There’s also no skipping meals and no workouts; only relaxing walks, gentle yoga and a bit of breath work if you desire.

This is about nurturing the body and nervous system in a calm and soothing way. Taking baths, stretching and pampering yourself!

But don’t get me wrong, all of this is done in a gentle yet powerful way so you’re going to experience renewed energy, feel lighter, and have more focus and clarity.

You can start your gut reset on a Saturday and do it over the weekend before beginning your week on Monday. Or start the weekend early and kick off on a Friday, the choice is yours.

In just a few days, you will notice an improvement in your appetite, digestion and elimination. You’ll feel more clear and have more mental focus. Even if you only stuck with it a day, you’ll notice a difference.

GENTLE CLEANSE AND GUT RESET

This is an Ayurvedic approach to detoxify the entire system. Ayurveda, which is “Science of Life” in Sanskrit, is based around thousands of years of foods and herbs that look after you from the inside out.

You also give your body a break from digital stimulation that we take in every day, allowing your body to repair itself.

THE FOOD - KITCHARI

A bowl of comfort food with herbs and spices — split mung beans with rice, quinoa or millet. Just add your favorite veggies. It’s delicious!

THE FOOD - SPICED APPLES

A fantastic and simple way to start or end the day. In Ayurveda, warm cooked apples help tonify the bowels, clean the liver, reduce inflammation and cure constipation.

THE DRINK - DETOX TEAS

A variety of digestive detox teas that will support you on your cleanse and help curb cravings throughout your gut reset.

THE HERBS - FORMULAS TO EASE DIGESTION

These powerful herbs have been used for over 3,000 years to relieve stress, ease digestion, increase energy levels, improve concentration, decrease depression, and reduce cortisol levels.

TWEAKS TO MAKE 3-day gut RESET WORK FOR YOU

Vegan? Swap ghee for coconut oil if you prefer not to use any animal product

Can't find sprouted mung beans? Use whole mung beans soaked.

Can't find whole mung beans? Use red split lentils.

Have a hard time digesting lentils? Make sure to use sprouted mung beans, which is much easier on your digestion and doesn’t need to be soaked beforehand. Cook the sprouted beans until they are soft.

Still struggling with legumes? You can opt for bone broth with rice and veggies using the same spices

Can’t eat rice? Use quinoa instead (definitely my preference).

Can’t eat quinoa? Then opt for a mung bean soup with broth and veggies using the same spices

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The recipes are vegetarian and gluten-free. You can easily make them vegan by substituting the ghee for coconut oil.

  • Use organic and non-GMO ingredients whenever possible

  • This is a gentle and supportive 3 days, however, if you have been consuming alcohol, coffee, sugar and cigarettes hard, then you may experience some frustrations. For an easier transition, slowly lay off these in the days approaching your 3-day gut reset.

  • Don’t deprive yourself by eating less or being strict on yourself. This is about giving your body the support it needs.

  • Stick warm water or tea between meals rather than anything cold.

  • As with any diet, exercise, supplementation or medication program, you should consult with your healthcare/medical professional before you start.
